(Editor's Note: The following letter was sent to the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce, Hicksville Chamber of Commerce and Hicksville Fire Department. It is being printed here at the author's request.)
I would like to give recognition where it's due to an exceptional member of our community. Almost everyday, whether it be on my way to work or going to lunch, there is a gentleman, Mr. William Foley, who faithfully tends to the gardens by the Hicksville train station. Rain or shine, he is out there weeding, cutting, planting, seeding, etc. It gives me great pleasure to see how much pride he takes in making the gardens beautiful for all to see.
Sometimes in life you take the small things for granted, but thanks to Mr. Foley, my morning commute to work is much more enjoyable, being able to look at the beautiful, well-kept gardens full of flowers.
I hope this letter falls into the hands of someone who will give Mr. Foley the recognition he truly deserves for his hard work and dedication as well as his endless time and effort.
