On May 17, Hicksville residents voted 1,789 to 1,558 in favor of the school district's 2005-2006 spending plan of $91,396,481. As a result of the 7.97 percent budget-to-budget increase, the district's tax rate is expected to be $217.55 per $100 of assessed valuation.
