Voting on the Hicksville School District's proposed 2004-2005 spending plan will take place on Tuesday, May 17. At this time, residents will have the opportunity to vote on three propositions.

Hicksville BOE Elections May 17
Voting for school board trustees and the district's 2005-2006 budget will take place in Hicksville on Tuesday, May 17. Three seats on the Hicksville Board of Education Elections are up for re-election this year. Incumbent Caryn Calabrese is seeking re-election. Challenging Calabrese is Dolores Garger. Richard Pfaender and Charles Coutieri are seeking election to the seat held by Augustine Tornatore, who resigned in December 2004, and Patrick Hourihane is running unopposed to the seat held by James Pino, who is not seeking re-election.

Cantiaque Park Senior Men's Golf League
The weather is getting better but their golf scores are not. They had 44 golfers there, but collectively they only had 20 pars and Sean McGuiness was the only golfer to get as many as three. They also had one birdie by Jim Anderson on the par 4, 259 yard, first hole. Most of them did not care too much about the scores. It was a great golf day and they were happy to get out on the course again after the long and snowy winter.
