Special 15th Assembly District Election Set for May 24
A special election will be held in the 15th Assembly District on Tuesday, May 24 to fill the seat being vacated by Assemblywoman Donna Ferrara. Ferrara, a Republican who has held the seat since first being elected in 1992, is resigning in order to take a job as commissioner with the New York State Workers Compensation Board.

Eugene Fennell Appointed Holy Trinity HS Principal
Eugene Fennell has been appointed principal of Holy Trinity Diocesan High School in Hicksville, effective July 1. Fennell served at Holy Trinity for the past 23 years, first as a teacher and then as dean of students. He will succeed James J. Boglioli, who will retire after 38 years at Holy Trinity. The appointment was announced by Sister Joanne Callahan, O.S.U., superintendent of schools, Diocese of Rockville Centre.

2nd Annual Kevin Kolm Memorial Lacrosse Day May 14
On April 13, 2004, 23-year-old Marine Corporal Kevin Kolm was killed in the line of duty while serving his country in Fallujah, Iraq. Cpl. Kolm was a graduate of Hicksville High School and the Hicksville PAL lacrosse program. Although he never achieved stardom on Hicksville's lacrosse fields, Cpl. Kolm did so on the battlefield. For his heroism, Cpl. Kolm has been awarded, posthumously, the Bronze Star of Valor in Combat.
