The Michael Magro Foundation will hold its 1st Annual Michael Magro 3-on-3 Hoops Champion Tournament on Friday, April 29 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at Hicksville Middle School.

The Michael Magro Foundation is a registered 503(c) non-profit corporation established in January 2005 to honor the life of Michael, who was referred to by his friends as "Magro." Michael loved to play lacrosse and was a seventh grader at Hicksville Middle School when he was diagnosed with leukemia. Michael had mentioned many times that he wished the outdoor field at the middle school would have a scoreboard.

As a result, proceeds from the 1st Annual 3-on-3 Hoops Champion Tournament will be used to purchase an outdoor scoreboard in Michael's name. Admission is $5 per person (paid at the door) and the event will also feature a 50/50 and prizes. T-shirts sales and window clings will be available for purchase as will snacks and drinks.
