Hicksville-Based Autism Magazine Goes Nationwide
Since learning of her son Matthew's diagnosis of autism in June 2001, Evelyn Ain of Oyster Bay has become a relentless advocate for autism awareness. Finding the right services for Matthew, who was diagnosed specifically with PDD-NOS, was just the beginning. In a short time she has lent herself to several hospitals, schools and organizations around New York and in April 2004, published her first issue of LI Spectrum magazine. Based in Hicksville, it is the first-ever publication for parents of children with autism and developmental disabilities.

HFD Responds to Overturned Vehicle Accident
At 8 a.m. on Feb. 16, a Volkswagen Passat was hit on the side and rolled onto its roof just 20 feet away from the Hicksville Fire Department's Station #2 at Briggs Street and Woodbury Road. Hicksville's ambulance and engine were at the scene within moments of the accident while some firefighters responded on foot.

Last Chance to Sign Up for HBA Spring Season
Registration for the Hicksville Baseball Association's (HBA) Little League Girls Softball and Boys Baseball will take place on Saturday, March 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Levittown Hall and Sunday, March 6 from noon to 3 p.m. at Abe Levitt Field (Little League Complex next to Dutch lane.) This is your last chance to sign up for the spring 2005 season.
