After serving 15 years as a Hicksville Fire Commissioner, I am writing to express my deep appreciation to the members of the fire department, the board of fire commissioners and the residents of this wonderful community for their unwavering support and friendship.

It was an honor to have served so long as commissioner, an experience I will cherish forever and always hold dear to my heart. The personal relationships I formed, the pride I felt in my community and the accomplishments I achieved for the safety and protection of my fellow volunteer firefighters and all who live in Hicksville will always stay with me.

While I have retired as fire commissioner, I will continue to volunteer my time to the community and the Hicksville Fire Department, which I have proudly served for 39 years. I wish the current Hicksville Board of Fire Commissioners continued success as they work together in the best interest of all who live here. May God bless us all and keep us safe from harm.

Joseph D. Giardina,

Former Commissioner, Hicksville Fire District

Ex-Captain, Hicksville Fire Department
