As vice chairman of the Save Your Neighborhood Firehouse Committee, I would like to thank the residents of Hicksville for getting involved, learning the truth and listening to the facts involving our efforts to save Station #2 and helping to elect Harry Single as our new fire commissioner.
Also, many thanks to our committee members for all their hard work and dedication in accomplishing our goals to keep Station #2 in our neighborhood and getting the renovations the firehouse needs. Also, thanks to Victoria A. Caruso, editor of the Hicksville Illustrated News, for reporting the true side of all the issues involved in this year's fire commissioner's elections.
Our work on the Save Your Neighborhood Firehouse will be continuing throughout next year. In late winter, we will deliver our petition to Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor John Venditto to let the town board members know how the majority of Hicksville feels and to get the Station #2 renovations started without delay.
I wish you all a happy holiday season and healthy New Year.
