Exchanging 'Toys for Tears'
When Santa needs toys for children during the holidays, he depends on his elves. When Cathy Schaedtler and her son Scott need toys to donate to injured or sick children, they depend on students in and around their local school district. The Schaedtlers started their 2004 holiday season by collecting unopened kids' meal toys from area schools. They donated 1,535 toys to the emergency room at New Island Hospital in Bethpage. For them, it's a holiday tradition.

Internet Fraud Discussed at Community Council Meeting
Members of the Hicksville Community Council were enlightened on the different types of Internet fraud during the council's December meeting. At this time, Stephen Treglia, assistant district attorney for Nassau County, held a rapt audience as he presented a survey of the types of computer fraud he encounters as an investigator. Stars, Stripes and Skates ICEtravaganza
Nancy Kerrigan once again hosted the Stars, Stripes and Skates ICEtravaganza - the third annual 9/11 Commemorative Event benefiting the 911 Families Give Back Fund. On Friday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. top figure skaters, along with celebrities, sports personalities and live musicians wowed the sold-out crowd with a night to remember at the Cantiague Park Ice Arena.
