Hicksville native David Musinski, a senior midfielder and captain of Marist College's Red Foxes soccer team, started all 19 games, recording nine points on four goals and an assist. He scored two goals in the 5-0 win over Canisius on Oct. 8 and assisted on the game-winning goal in the 1-0 victory over Niagara two days later. For his performance, Musinski was named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week for Oct. 11. He scored an insurance goal in the 2-0 win over Rider in the MAAC title game and was named to the All-MAAC Second Team.
The Red Foxes finished the season 11-8 overall and 6-3 in the MAAC. The third seed entering the conference tournament, Marist defeated second-seeded St. Peter's and fourth-seeded Rider to win the conference title and earn its first automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Marist took Big East champions Connecticut to overtime in the first round before falling 2-1. During the season the Red Foxes set school records for shutouts (eight) and consecutive shutouts (seven).
