He also worked as a consultant for Anheuser-Busch for more than a decade, helping employees with addictions. He worked for the Salvation Army and Project Renewal, where, after Sept. 11, 2001, he assisted those dealing with grief.
He met his wife, Beatrice, when they were dating in their teens, but her family told them they had to break up because of different religious backgrounds. They met 32 years later and married soon after. In 1994, the two took over New Pathway Counseling Services in Mineola. They moved the office to Hicksville in 1999. It offers comprehensive counseling services to addicts and their families. He also taught at C.W. Post Campus of LIU.
