Genevieve "Jean" Scully, of East Meadow and longtime resident of Hicksville, died on Oct. 26, 2004 at the age of 84. Beloved wife of Joseph (deceased). Loving mother of Thomas, Gerard (deceased), Joseph and daughters-in-law, Verna, Druscilla and Leigh. She will also be dearly missed by her seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was a past member of the Westbury Chapter of the Knights of Columbus. Arrangements were made by the Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home, Hicksville. Mass at St. Ignatius Loyola Church. Walter J. Battersby, of Hicksville, died on Oct. 30, 2004. He was a founding member of Holy Family Church. He was an usher and Bingo volunteer. Beloved husband of the late Mary. Loving father of Doris and Patricia Wesolko. Cherished grandfather of Michael, Therese (Louis) and Thomas (Meegan). Great-grandfather of Gabriela, Victoria, Christopher and Brittany.
