At approximately 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 2, the Hicksville Fire Department received a call for a house fire. Upon arrival, firefighters were greeted with flames engulfing both the first and second stories of the Bruce Avenue home. The Hicksville Gardens Civic Association's Oct. 28 meeting was standing room only as residents attended to voice their opposition to a proposal to construct a "lodging" place at 594 South Broadway at Gerald Avenue - the site of the former T.J.
