The Senior Men's Golf League beat the rain again. On Oct. 14 they played a make-up tournament for one that was rained out earlier in the year. They almost got rained out again. It started to rain three or four times, but each time it stopped after a minute or so. Just after they finished, it came down in earnest. They played a scramble tournament. Two teams were tied with 31s. They tied the first hole, but one team got a par on the second and the other team got a bogie. The winning team was John Pellegrino, Don Gaynor, Bob Lasky and Jerry Leonard, who also won the longest drive trophy. The second-place team was Jim Bradley, Joe Magee, Jim Greene and Pete Guerra. The closest to the pin trophy was won by Jim Gibbons.

Competition on the nine hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 11 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 12 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55-years of age is eligible.

Note: Because of the rapid growth of the club this year, we regret that we must limit membership. The time involved to make up the foursomes and the waiting time for all the groups to finish is prohibitive. If you have already called to say that you wish to join the club, we will accept you, but after that we will have to put you on the waiting list. For more information, call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
