The Race for the 15th Assembly District
The 15th Assembly District-the largest district in Nassau County-is comprised of 40 election districts and communities within the Towns of Hempstead, North Hempstead and Oyster Bay. The district includes Locust Valley, Hicksville, Brookville, Old Brookville, Upper Brookville, Matinecock, Salisbury, Westbury, Old Westbury, Oyster Bay, Mill Neck, East Norwich and Glenwood Landing as well as parts of Glen Head, Jericho, Laurel Hollow, Syosset, Bethpage, Greenvale, East Hills, Woodbury, Muttontown, Oyster Bay Cove, Roslyn Harbor, Plainview and East Meadow.
Station #2 Advocates Hold Petition Kick-Off
On Oct. 11, some 100 residents demonstrated outside Station #2 in support of the Hicksville Fire District's plans to renovate the 48-year-old firehouse. Sponsored by the Hicksville Residents to Save Your Neighborhood Firehouse community group, the event served as a "Help Save the Firehouse" petition kick-off.
Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League Update
Forty-two men golfed on Oct. 7 with a totally of 38 pars, but it was Peter Kerr's day. He shot a net score of 24 and won closest to the pin, and he got two pars and the only birdie of the day on the par four, 259-yard, first hole. Dave Malle bogied the first four holes and then he pared the last five in a row.
Musinski Named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week
Marist senior midfielder David Musinski was named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Offensive Player of the Week. This is the second straight week that a Red Fox has earned the honor.
