A group of residents living near the Hicksville Fire District's Station No. 2, located at the intersection of Woodbury Road and Briggs Street, have formed a neighborhood committee in an effort to prevent the relocation of the firehouse and show support for the district's plans to renovate the building. Hicksville High School students got an unexpected day off Wednesday after a tree, which uprooted during the previous night's heavy rainfall, knocked out power lines and left the building in the dark.
