The Hicksville Gardens Civic Association will hold a community forum on Thursday, Sept. 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Kenneth Barnes Community Room of the Hicksville Public Library. Please be on time as the forum will begin at 7 p.m., sharp.

The Hicksville Gardens Civic Association is asking residents to email their questions for both the fire commissioners and/or the Briggs Neighborhood Committee to HGCA@Yahoo.com. Questions can also be mailed to HGCA, PO Box 624, Hicksville NY 11802-0624.

Unfortunately the Hicksville Fire Commissioners have declined our invitation to attend. The questions for the fire commissioners will be forwarded to Robert Dwyer, chairman of the Hicksville Fire District's Board of Commissioners after the forum and addressed at the fire district's Oct. 12 meeting. The questions asked of the Briggs Community Group will be answered on the night of the forum.

As of press time, confirmed representation at the forum has been received from the offices of Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto, Councilmembers Mary McCaffery, Rose Marie Walker and Anthony Macagnone, Oyster Bay Town Receiver of Taxes James Stefanich, Nassau County Legislator Edward Mangano, New York State Assemblyman David Sidikman and Briggs Neighborhood Committee.

The Hicksville Gardens Civic Association is looking forward to hearing from you and seeing you on Sept. 30. The association hopes to present both sides of the story. It will be up to the community to decide which one makes more sense.
