Get Out and Walk to D'Feet ALS
Residents of Farmingdale and the surrounding communities are being asked to come out on Sunday, Sept. 26 in an effort to raise money and awareness for the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association for the Walk to D'Feet ALS. The event, which is currently in its fourth year, will be held at Eisenhower Park beginning at 10:45 a.m.

With Rabid Raccoon Count Up to 4, NYS DOH Distributes Vaccine
With an additional rabid raccoon reported on Sept. 2, bringing the total to four in recent weeks, the New York State Department of Health and the United States Department of Agriculture, Wildlife Services (USDA) distributed raccoon rabies vaccine by hand and helicopter this week in an effort to protect residents from rabies. Veterinarians and wildlife biologists from the New York State Department of Health Zoonoses Program conducted the vaccination program in cooperation with the USDA.

News From the Hicksville Crusaders
The Hicksville Crusaders 10-year-old team's first possession gained only 7 yards but on 4th and 3rd to go for the first down a short snap was picked up by punter Chris Ferolito and run around end for a 15-yard gain and a first down. Unable to move the ball for a first down, the Crusaders lined up to punt again. The snap from center Eddie Neuner was perfect and the punt was downed inside the 5-yard line.
