The Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League had a beautiful day for its September 2 tournament and there were 41 eager golfers at the course. They scored a little more than one par per man. They got 44 pars with Sean McGuiness getting four of them and Bill Cheslock getting five. They also had two birdies to go along with those pars. Don Gaynor got one on the 150 yard, par 3, third hole and Dave Malle got the other on the 272 yard, par 4, sixth hole.

The next tournament will be on Thursday, Sept. 16. It will be the fifth and final round of the league's annual match play tournament. The two golfers that will play for the Match Play Championship are Wes Villazon and Bob Aull.

Note: Because they missed one tournament early in the season, they will golf on the first three Thursdays in October. The second tournament will be a scramble tournament.

Competition on the nine-hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 11 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 12 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league. Any man who is 55 years of age or over is eligible.

Please note: Because of the rapid growth of the club this year, the league regrets that it must limit its membership. The time involved to make up the foursomes and the waiting time for all the groups to finish is prohibitive. If you have already called to say that you wish to join the club, you will be accepted, but after that you will be put on a waiting list. For more information, call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
