The Hicksville Chamber of Commerce's "Citizen of the Year" award acknowledges the ongoing efforts of a non-business or business person who showed exceptional dedication to the improvement and betterment of Hicksville and its people for their generous contribution of time, energy and service given toward the promotion and growth of a better Hicksville. Not being able to think of a more deserving individual, this year's recipient is Rosemary Barrow. Through her work and dedication, Barrow has given Hicksville a strong sense of place and we thank for all she has done and has yet to do.

Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League Update
The Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League had a beautiful day for its September 2 tournament and there were 41 eager golfers at the course. They scored a little more than one par per man. They got 44 pars with Sean McGuiness getting four of them and Bill Cheslock getting five. They also had two birdies to go along with those pars. Don Gaynor got one on the 150 yard, par 3, third hole and Dave Malle got the other on the 272 yard, par 4, sixth hole.

Girl Scouts Celebrate Success at 20th Annual 'Go for the Green' Golf Outing
The Girl Scouts of Nassau County's 20th annual "Go for the Green" Golf Outing was a great success with more than 100 attendees. The event, which took place on Monday, Aug. 2 at the Mill River Club, Inc. in Upper Brookville, raised more than $82,000 for the organization.
