Revised Plans for Parking Lot Have Sterling Place Residents Relieved
The Hicksville Public Library, at a special meeting held Wednesday night, approved revised plans pertaining to the demolition of two Sterling Place homes in an effort to expand upon its current parking situation. Demolition of the homes, which are located in the middle of a residentially-zoned street, is scheduled to begin on Monday, weather permitting.

Successful VBS Programs at Trinity Lutheran, United Methodist
For decades, Trinity Lutheran Church in Hicksville has offered a Vacation Bible School program to the community. It has been a regular feature of summer in the community and has drawn hundreds of children through its doors over the years.

Rising Stars Finish Season in 2nd
Hicksville's Rising Stars Girls U12 Soccer Team recently finished a great spring season with a record of 7-1-1 and came in second for their division. The girls celebrated their successful season with a barbecue at Coach Steve Bonczyk's house, a trip to AdventureLand and a block party at Coach Dave Sargoy's house. Good Luck to the girls in the upcoming fall season.

Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League Update
The Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League once again started their tournament on August 19 wondering if they were going to get wet. The sun did not come out until they got home but there were 42 men on hand to play. There were 35 pars with Jim Greene getting 5 and Dan McCann getting 4. There were also 2 birdies - Ed Farrell got one on the par 4, 257 yard, 5th hole and John Pellegrino got the other on the par 4, 272 yard, 6th hole.
