The annual Hicksville Summer Street Fair hosted by the Hicksville Chamber of Commerce is right around the corner. Make sure to stop by on Sunday, Aug. 29 between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for a day full of fun, shopping and entertainment.
Look for the fair on Jerusalem Avenue from Marie Street down to the Kennedy Park area. Come early and plan to stay late!
Live entertainment, local business participation and amusements are just a taste of what's in store for everyone. Proceeds from the event will support the Chamber's efforts to help local businesses and the community. Through the generosity of various sponsors all rides and amusements for children will be free, including face painting, moon bounce, Velcro wall, giant slide, petting zoo, mini-carousel and more. T-shirts will be distributed to the first 500 children who enter the fair.
The Planning Committee is comprised of Chairman Sam Maruca, MetLife; Chamber President Patrick Crowe, Vernon Wagner Funeral Home; Stephanie Sokenis, Mailrite, Inc; Jim Pavone; Strategic Aerospace Material; Beth Dalton-Costello; Dalton Funeral Homes; Nick Brigandi, commissioner of the Hicksville Water District; Joe Bater, Chai Chiropractic; Robert Goldabar, Sign*A*Rama; Val Pakaluk, president of the Hicksville Community Council; Nancy Obermeyer, GreenPoint Bank; Eileen Wangner, Dance Dimensions; and Judy Lombardi, executive secretary of the chamber.
The group has been working throughout the summer making plans to make this event one that will be remembered so mark it on your calendar and come on down.
