Hicksville's Blasi Produces First Feature Film
Hicksville resident Elke Blasi is the writer, director and producer of her first feature film, *69. A resident of Hicksville for most of her life, Blasi decided to keep the film as local as possible. As a result, it was filmed mainly in Nassau County, with a few scenes shot in Pennsylvania. Also, many of the cast and crew are Long Island residents from Hicksville, Westbury and Carle Place.

Hicksville Crusaders Football Camp
The Hicksville Crusaders Football Association camp, which was held at Hicksville Middle School Aug. 2 through Aug. 6, was a huge success. Teams comprised of children ages five to 14 years old participated in this free camp. The Hicksville Crusaders have now expanded to teams in every age group and are anticipating opening day, which will take place on Sept. 12 at Hicksville Middle School.

The Hicksville American Soccer Club is still accepting registrations for the fall 2004/spring 2005 intramural season. Boys and girls born Aug. 1, 1995 through July 31, 2001 are eligible.
