On Tuesday, June 8 at approximately 9:06 p.m., the Hicksville Fire Department and the Nassau County Police Department Emergency Services Unit responded to a call for a serious MVA with multiple traumas at the intersection of South Broadway and New South Road.

Upon arrival, emergency service personnel found a male driver of a maroon Firebird had sustained serious injuries when he was ejected from his vehicle. Hicksville Fire Department Ambulance #939, with Chief Steve Doucette, rushed the victim to the trauma unit at a local hospital while additional arriving units from the fire and police departments prepared a 9-year-old boy for transport to the same unit. Firefighters also used the Jaws of Life to free the boy's mother from a crushed Buick. Both were transported to the hospital.
On Monday, June 7 at approximately 8:30 a.m., the Hicksville Fire Department responded to a call for an MVA rollover with injuries at the intersection of North Broadway and West Marie Street. Upon arrival, fire officials found that a black Lexus SUV had been broad-sided by a blue Toyota, causing the SUV to roll over. The driver of the Lexus was assisted out of her overturned auto by Nassau County Police Officers. Minor injuries were sustained and treated at the scene.
