HFD Commissioners Approve Station 2 Project
The Hicksville Board of Fire Commissioners voted 3-1 Wednesday night in favor of moving forward with plans to renovate the fire department's Station #2 at its current location (Woodbury Road and Briggs Street.) Commissioners Anthony Wigdzinski, William McKee and Joseph Giardina voted in favor of the project, while Commissioner Charles Hearon voted against it. Robert Dwyer abstained from voting because, as chairman of the board, his vote is only cast in the event of a tie. Freight Yard Shed Fire
Hicksville firefighters responded to a report of smoke in the area by the railroad freight yard on West John Street on April 8. The alarm was received at 2:52 p.m.

News from the Hicksville Community Tennis Association
Terry Fontana, founder and president of the Hicksville Community Tennis Association (HCTA), was recently awarded a grant to attend the annual United States Tennis Association's 2004 Community Tennis Development Workshop, which took place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Sessions included an array of new and innovative ideas in the areas of tennis programming, strategic planning, volunteer development and expanding financial resources to help bring tennis to the community.

Play Golf and Support Hicksville Crusader's Football
Hicksville Crusaders Football will sponsor its First Annual Golf Outing on Monday, April 19 at the Oyster Bay Golf Course. The day will begin at 10 a.m. with a continental breakfast and be followed by a noon shotgun start.
