The Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League had 22 golfers for their April 2 tournament, in spite of the cold and windy weather and prediction of rain. Their originally scheduled first tournament of the year was supposed to be held on March 18, but they were snowed out, so this was the first tournament of the year.

In spite of the weather, the scores were not bad. There were 20 pars and one birdie, which was shot by David Malle on the par 4, 257 yard 5th hole. Overall low was won by Lou Neumann with a net score of 26.

Nassau County wants to privatize the Nassau County golf courses. Anybody who objects is asked to call or write to voice their opinion to County Executive Tom Suozzi at 571-3131; Leg. Majority Leader Judy Jacobs at 571-6216; Leg. Minority Leader Peter Schmitt at 571-6212.

The next tournament will be held on Thursday, April 15.

Competition on the nine-hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 11 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 12 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league and is always looking for new members. Any man who is at least 55 years of age is eligible. For more information, call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
