The 11th Annual Rob's Run was held on Sunday, Nov. 30, and 46-year-old superstar Don Di Donato of Hicksville scored as the first runner over age 40 in this annual cross country race at Stillwell Woods Town Park in Syosset.

Di Donato, who is a member of the host Greater Long Island Running Club and runs competitively for the Runner's Edge Racing Team, crossed the finish line in 17 minutes, 7 seconds, good for 7th place overall in the field of 478 finishers. Di Donato and his Runner's Edge Teammates John Del Maestro, Eddie Reagan and Marty Knapp combined to take first place honors in the men's Masters Team competition.

Rob's Run was once again sponsored by Long Island Blood Services and administered by the Greater Long Island Running Club. Run Directors Ed Melnik and Steve Klemes once again did a great job of ensuring that this event remained Long Island's premier cross country run and a wonderful way to enjoy the beauty of Stillwell Woods.

As in the past, this year's Rob's Run was dedicated to the memory of Rob Lauterborn, an extraordinary human being, talented runner and good friend who was taken at far too young an age. The net proceeds of Rob's Run will once again be turned over to the ASPIRE Program for the rehabilitation of young amputees, victims of bone cancer and traumatic amputations.
