Helen Guild Duthie Jackson, 86, died Dec. 6, 2003 at South Shore Villa in Crapaud, Prince Edward Island, Canada. She was a former resident of Hicksville for more than 60 years. Helen was a member of the Mercy League and several senior clubs in Hicksville.

Helen was born in Princeton, NJ. She graduated from Princeton High School. April 19, 1941 she married her high school sweetheart, Edward Paul Jackson in St. Paul's Catholic Church, New Jersey, and moved to Hicksville with her husband.

Helen loved flowers and took pride in her colorful garden. She traveled extensively during her lifetime. When she was no longer able to travel, she enjoyed reliving those adventures as she paged through her photo albums. She also loved visiting her children and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edward; her two sisters, Ida Campbell and Isabel Murray; and two brothers, Charles and William. She is survived by her brother, John Duthie and his wife Madalyn of Toms River; sister-in-law, Florence Duthie of Massapequa; two daughters, Susan Jackson-Hewitt of Carmel, CA, and Phyllis Diercks of Prince Edward Island, Canada; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

A memorial Mass and luncheon in celebration of Helen's life will be held in the spring of 2004 in Princeton, NJ. A nursing scholarship in Helen's memory will be founded at South Shore Villag, Prince Edward Island. Contributions can be made to that fund this spring. Martha A. Pellicane (nee Evans), of Hicksville, died on Dec. 8, 2003. Wife of Anthony. Mother of Martha (Louis) Florio, Anthony and Frank. Grandmother of Anthony and Edward.
