Michael Hollander, president of the Long Island Convention and Visitors Bureau and Sports Commission, announced that the Nassau County Aquatics Center in Uniondale will host the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Girls Swimming and Diving Championship returns to Long Island for the second time on Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22.

Top female athletes from hundreds of high schools across New York State will come together for this exciting two-day competition. The athletes will participate in events including the 200m relay, 200m free stroke, 1m dive, 100m breast stroke and others. Swimming and diving preliminaries and semifinals will be held on Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., while finals will begin at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday.

For individual events, Medals and Federation Awards will be awarded for first through 10th place in each category while ribbons will be presented for 11th through 12th place. Medals will be given to first through eighth place finishers in relay events.

Tickets are $6 per person, per session. There are two sessions on Friday, the first for diving preliminaries and the second for swimming preliminaries, and one on Saturday, for finals in both swimming and diving. "The Nassau County Aquatics Center is an exceptional venue for all types of aquatic competitions and is an ideal location for athletic ventures of this caliber.
