The Hicksville Diamonds Girls U13 Soccer Team played well above expectations at the recent Columbus Day Tournament hosted by the Brentwood Soccer Club.

The Diamonds, led by Coach Michael Lampert, played to a 4-1 record, which put them in a three-way tie for first place. It took the fifth tiebreaker to cause the Diamonds to relinquish the top spot and bring home the second place title.

The girls played an outstanding tournament, scoring a total of 11 goals against their opponents and giving up only three goals thanks to the great goal keeping of Jessica Mueller, Brianna Quiroz, Nicole Chirco and Nicole Osmundsen. Goals were scored by Courtney Preston (2), Brianna Quiroz (2), Rachel Lampert (2), Leigha Rosario, Nicole Chirco, Olivia DeJohn, Nicole Osmundsen and Kelly Ann Psomiades.

The great level of play by each and every one of the girls enabled the team to return to Hicksville as winners. Congratulations to the entire team, your coaches and parents are proud of you.
