Local Artist Pays Tribute to LI Korean War Vets
In 1950, communist North Korea invaded South Korea. As a result, the United States, together with South Korea and United Nations armies, drove back the invaders in a three-year bloody war and on July 27, 1953, at the 38th Parallel, a cease-fire was declared. Today, South Korea is a leading industrial nation with a democratic government thanks to US efforts while North Korea remains a dictatorship, isolated with a ruined economy.

Holy Family CYO Update
Holy Family's 8th grade girls opened defense of their league championship with a hard-fought 40-34 win against Our Lady of Victory (OLV). The game was close throughout, but Holy Family's stingy defense yielded just one 4th quarter field goal to thwart OLV's upset attempt.

Grandmaster Shin's Tae Kwon Do to Hold Kick-A-Thon
Throughout November, Grandmaster Shin's Tae Kwon Do in Hicksville will be taking part in a national project called the "Thanksgiving Basket Brigade." The mission is to deliver 100 Thanksgiving baskets, complete with turkey, rolls, gravy, beans, corn, cranberry sauce, potatoes, pie and much more to local families who would otherwise do without.
