The Hicksville Flash U-15 Boys Soccer Team started their fall season with three straight wins, including an 11-1 finish against South Huntington; a 7-3 win against Elwood; and a 9-1 win over East Islip. So far, the team has scored 27 goals in three games, more than they scored during the entire spring season.
The team played well with new players Hector Valdes (5 goals), John Mira (4 goals), Matt Oliva (2 goals), Danny Musinski (1 goal), as well as resulting players Devin Laviano (5 goals) Danny Alves (1 goal), Carlos Mendez (1 goal), Kevin Myers (1 goal) and Teddy Bruckner (1 goal).
Defensive play of Brian Masterson, Michael Sanchez, Kyle Collier, George Rios, Timothy Sciascia and newcomer Anthony Geslak kept the games one-sided, allowing just five goals, four being penalty kicks, against the Flash in three games. Kevin Cardoza, Anthony Geslak, Kyle Bloecker and Carlos Mendez have shared the goalie position and have done a fine job.
The Flash, who will compete in the Brentwood Columbus Day Weekend Tournament, would like to thank their sponsors, PAL industries, American Office Furniture, GGG Construction, Classic Concrete, Tracy's Karate, Tommy Kitchen II, Ridgewood Savings, CFS Bank and Century 21 Ann Haran, for all their support. Coaches Sciascia, Materson and Bruckner are pleased with the way the team has come together and worked with its new players.
