Local Counseling Center Celebrates Three Decades of Service
For the past 30 years, Ecumenical Consultation Center at 147 Broadway in Hicksville has been providing counseling and psychotherapeutic services to individuals and families. Since its inception in 1973, the center has been offering mental health assistance by certified/licensed professionals with no waiting list.

Tim and Linda Stauder, in conjunction with the Ahepa Bone Marrow Registry - a member of the American Bone Marrow Registry - and the Caitlin Raymond International Registry, are seeking the community's support for a bone marrow blood testing drive on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

John Glancy's name was spelled incorrectly on the sports page of last week's Hicksville Illustrated News. Glancy is eight years old and recently took first place in the 10 and under age group at the Merchants Mill Race in Massapequa Park. Glancy ran a 6:58 mile.

Attention All Kid Writers
Each year, the William M. Gouse, Jr. VFW Post #3211 and its Ladies of Auxiliary conduct the "Voice of Democracy" essay and scholarship contest for local high school students. This year's patriotic theme is "My Commitment to America's Future." The deadline for student entries is Nov. 1.
