The Hicksville Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting on Wednesday, July 2.

At this time, the board for the 2003-2004 school year was sworn in, including newly-elected member Gus Costa. James Pino was voted in as the school board president; Alesia Sommers was elected vice president, replacing Peggy Theis who lost her seat to Costa; and Augustine Tornatore will serve as the secretary of the board.

In addition, board members were also appointed as chairs of school board committees. Sommers was appointed to the facilities committee; Tornatore to the finance committee; Costa to the policy committee; and Calabrese to the curriculum committee. Costa was also appointed the new Community and Council Liaison; Calabrese was appointed Parliamentarian; and Sommers was appointed PTA Council delegate.

The Hicksville Board of Education's next meeting will take place on Wednesday, July 23 at 8:30 p.m. in the administration building's board room.
