The purpose of this letter is simply to clarify the misunderstanding within the family of firefighters.

Among the neighbors bordering Station #2, the issue is not with the volunteer members, but with the inappropriateness of yet another renovation project. First, the land is inadequate in size. Next, Station #2 is located in a residential neighborhood and plans for this enlargement project were formulated and neighbors never informed. Finally, and most importantly, we are talking about homes bordering the Station #2 firehouse, which are inhabited by real families who live with the threat of losing their homes, perhaps not now, but surely in the future, when a new board of fire commissioners has replaced the existing members.

These families live with the very real possibility that an enlarged firehouse will open the door to the evil law eminent domain.
