District Proposes 5.5 Percent Budget to Budget Increase
Voting on the Hicksville School District's proposed 2003-2004 spending plan will take place on Tuesday, June 3. At this time, residents will have the opportunity to vote for or against the district's proposed spending plan of $78,340,644. The 2003-2004 budget is a 5.5 percent or $4,067,108 increase over the current year's budget of $74,273,536.

Four Vie for Two Board Seats
Voting for school board trustees and the district's 2003-2004 budget will take place in Hicksville on Tuesday, June 3. Two seats on the board will expire this year, including Pat Love's and Peggy Theis'. Both Love and Theis are seeking re-election and both races are being contested. Dolores Garger is running against Love and Gus Costa is running against Theis.

Hicksville Football Is Here to Stay
Open registration for Hicksville Crusaders Youth Football will be held on Monday, June 2 at Levittown Hall from 7 to 9 p.m. Thanks to the energy and enthusiasm of the Hicksville Football Association's (HFA) inaugural season families, HFA is growing faster than expected. Registrations for 2003 have already tripled in size. With the football season around the corner, HFA is still in need of registrants to finalize their teams and prepare for a record-breaking second season.

9th Annual Kids Sports Festival May 31
The 9th Annual Business Cares for Kids Sports Festival to benefit Ronald McDonald House of Long Island will take place on Saturday, May 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Cantiague Park in Hicksville. The event is being sponsored by Southwest Airlines and the Robert Plan Corporation.
