Rallies Held in Support of US Troops
The Town of Oyster Bay and the town's Veterans Advisory Council, along with the Bethpage Chamber of Commerce and the Bethpage and Plainview Fire Departments, sponsored a rally on Sunday, April 6 in support of the coalitions troops fighting in Iraq. At this time, town residents, including families of military personnel, veterans, emergency services personnel, civic and service organizations, and public officials from throughout Oyster Bay Township gathered to show their support.

HFD Purchases New Gas and Chemical Detector
The Hicksville Fire Department, recognizing the need for more advanced chemical detection capabilities, recently acquired a new multi-gas detector device that has the ability to detect numerous toxic chemicals using photo-ionization detection (PID) technology.

Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League Update
The Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League held a tournament on April 3. It was a cold and nasty day but it warmed up and became comfortable after awhile. There was a good turnout as 31 hardy golfers were on hand, nine of which are new members. Overall low was won by Ted Marakawa with a net score of 27. He parred the first three holes and also parred on the 7th. Dan McCann won the longest drive, the closest to the pin and 2nd low net in flight A with a 29. McCann also got the only birdie of the day on the 259-yard, par 4, first hole. He also got pars on the 3rd, 6th and 7th holes.
