Sheila Hoegl Noeth - 1912-2003
Sheila Hoegl Noeth, born July 12, 1912 in London, England, came to this country at the age of five with her mother, Edith, father, Samuel, and brother, Brian Diggle. The family lived in Dayton Ohio and Bayonne, NJ before settling in the Village of Hempstead where she grew up and went to school. Sheila married John Hoegl, an émigré from Rupolding, Germany. After the birth of her sons, John and Peter, she started the Beacon Newspapers in West Hempstead in 1951.

Supervisor Venditto Announces Community Centers for Hicksville and Plainview-Old Bethpage
Hicksville and Plainview-Old Bethpage will soon have brand new community centers, announced recently by Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto. At its March 25 meeting, the town board awarded contracts for the construction of the two centers. The contracts also mark the first time the town has exercised a new town law requiring the contractors to have an apprenticeship program.

Hicksville Hockey Alumni, spanning 40 years, will come together once again to participate in the 10th Annual Alumni Games and Banquet. This event draws former players from all over the country to reunite in a tradition so common in the sport of hockey and to the reputation of Hicksville Hockey.
