This year, Catholic Schools Week launched the celebration of Sister M. Joanne Deegan's 25 years as principal of the Our Lady of Mercy (OLM) School in Hicksville. Just this past October, Sister Joanne completed 50 years as a Sister of Mercy.

Suozzi Speech Touts Economic Progress
Long-running contract disagreements between the administration of Thomas Suozzi and the Police Benevolent Society flared up again during the county executive's recent State of the County address.
Registration for the Hicksville Crusaders Football and Cheerleading for the 2003 season will take place at Levittown Hall on Monday, April 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. Practice is set to begin the first week of August.

The members of the Holy Trinity High School Varsity Cheerleading team recently earned Long Island Cheerleading's highest honor, the title of "Long Island Champions," during a small varsity division at the annual LICCA (Long Island Cheerleading Coaches Association) Championships held at on Feb. 9 at Riverhead High School.
