Hicksville resident Jenn Baierlein, a senior at Townson University in Townson, MD, is a co-captain of the Tiger's for the second consecutive year. The eighth-leading scorer in Townson history with 1,466.250 points, Baierlein has competed as an all-around in every meet of her college career and been named as a first team All-East Atlantic Gymnastic League All-EAGL) selection as an all-around two years in a row and been named first team All-EAGL on bars the last two years.
Baierlein competed at Mid-Island Gymnastics for 13 years. She was a Level 10 gymnast for six years and qualified for Level 10 nationals four years in a row. She is the 1999 New York all-around champ and winner of the Region 6 Achievement Award. In 1999, Baierlein earned the New York State Outstanding Athlete Award and was named to the Long Island all-star team at the 1998 Goodwill Games. She is champion of the 1999 Empire State Games in vault, floor and all-around and was honored as Townson University's Rookie of the Year for women's sports as a freshman.
Liz Rothbard of Hicksville, a freshman at Townson University in Townson, MD, is one of the newest members of the Tiger's 2002 Gymnastic Team. Rothbard, who competed for Mid-Island Gymnastics for 10 years, is a four-time Level 10 regional qualifier. She finished third in the all-around at the 2000 Level 10 state championship meet and also took third place on bars in the all-around for the first time. Additional accomplishments include eighth place in the all-around competition at the Level 10 Regionals in 2000, seventh place on bars and fourth on beam at the 2001 Level 10 state championship meet second on vault at the 1999 Level 10 state meet, was an alternate for Level 10 nationals in 1999 and a key performer for Level 10 club team that won the New York State championship in 1999.
