HFD Unveils George Howard Memorial Showcase
The Hicksville Fire Department unveiled a memorial showcase on Jan. 31 in honor of the late George Howard, an ex-captain of Hicksville's Emergency Company 5 and Port Authority Police Officer who perished in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Following the attacks, the department named Howard honorary chief.

Holy Family 7th Grade Girls - LI Champs!
For Holy Family's seventh grade girls, the task was daunting. They were in the championship game facing a St. Rose team that had been crowned Long Island champs for the past two years and had beaten Holy Family six consecutive times. During the regular season, St. Rose - with a record of 10-2 - had handed Holy Family - with a record of 11-1 - its only loss. In addition, St. Rose possessed superior height and the league's most potent offense. Could Holy Family's swarming defense finally shut down the big red machine?

Registration for 2002 Hicksville Crusader Football and Cheerleading Scheduled
Registration for the Hicksville Crusaders Football and Cheerleading for the 2003 season will take place at Levittown Hall on Monday, March 3 and Monday, April 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. Practice is set to begin the first week of August.
