Holy Family's unbeaten streak is over. St. Rose, two time and defending Nassau-Suffolk champions, defeated Holy Family 33-31 to hand Holy Family its first loss after eight consecutive victories. Holy Family's hustle and aggressive defense kept this game clear despite St. Rose's enormous height advantage.

Clutch shooting by Courtney Breen (16 points), Nicole Robison (six points) and Erin Breen (four points) triggered a fourth-quarter rally that enabled Holy Family to wipe out a 6-point St. Rose lead and tie the score in the game's winning moments. However, St. Rose scored the game's final basket with less than a minute remaining to seal the victory.

Stellar defensive play by Katie Leo, Valerie Ahrens and Nicole DeGennaro helped keep St. Rose's point total well below their season average, while Jennifer Osorio and Michelle Vicidomini battled valiantly for rebounds despite their size disadvantage.

Despite the loss, Holy Family remains in first place, clinging to a one game lead with three left to play this season.
