William James Villela, of Plainview, died on Nov. 20, 2002. He served as a WWII medic, was awarded the Purple Heart, Silver Star and Bronze Star for gallantry in action. Husband of Pauline. Father of Anne Catanzariti, Janet Ferguson and Nancy Ricciuti. Brother of Ralph, Louise and the late Anthony. Grandfather of Laura, Lisa, Christine, Billy, Gina and Robert. Father-in-law of Greg, Jimmy and Bobby. Brother-in-law of Dottie, Dee, Grace, Julia and Mary. The family was cared for by the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Home, Hicksville Chapel. Mass at Our Lady of Mercy RC Church. Interment St. Charles Cemetery.
