Hicksville Mother Needs Bone Marrow Transplant
Family and friends of Hicksville resident Meg Reynolds gathered at the East Lake Elementary School in Massapequa earlier this month in the hopes there would be a potential bone marrow match for the 39-year-old mother of two with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Despite previous attempts, those close to Reynolds, including her sister, three brothers and parents have proven to be negative matches.

Hicksville Author Captures 25 Years of Yankee History
Growing up within walking distance of the Bronx Bomber's stadium, Vincent Luisi was, of course, a Yankee fan. Now, with the baseball franchise celebrating its 100th anniversary, Luisi, a baseball historian and resident of Hicksville for the past 42 years, has brought the first 25 years of the team's history to life through the pages of a book.

Flahavan Heads for the Finish Line
Hicksville resident Liz Flahavan was the first woman overall in the annual Baldwin 5 Kilometer Pumpkin Run held in and around Baldwin Park on Saturday, Oct. 26. Flahavan, a member of the Greater Long Island Running Club who runs competitively for the Runner's Edge Racing Team, crossed the finish line in 20 minutes, 54 seconds - more than three full minutes in front of her nearest competitor.
