BOE Reviews Inclusion Program
Hicksville School District board members and residents gathered in the crowded board room of the administration building Wednesday, Oct. 23 to applaud the district's teachers for their success in the inclusion education program as board members were honored for their work toward improving the district. Governor George Pataki recently declared the week of Oct. 28 - Nov. 1 as National School Board Recognition Week.

Jung, 15th A.D. Right to Life Candidate
Political newcomer George T. Jung is seeking election to the 15th Assembly District on the Right to Life Party line. A resident of Hicksville for 27 years, Jung is running against Democrat and Liberal Party candidate Jim Buonagura, also of Hicksville, and incumbent Donna Ferrara, of Westbury, who is running on the Republican, Conservative, Independent and Working Families lines.

Youth Football Revived in Hicksville
In football, like any other sport, learning the fundamentals are the keys to any team's success. So three years ago when Barney Dellaquilla took over as head coach of the Hicksville High School football team, he knew he had his work cut out for him. He was alluding to the fact that for nearly two decades the town of Hicksville had been void of a youth football program.

Di Donato Takes Top Spot at TOB Oyster Fest 5K Run
Hicksville's Don Di Donato was the sixth finisher from overall and the first finisher over the age of 40 as nearly 600 runners from all over Long Island and beyond successfully completed the 14th Annual Town of Oyster Bay Supervisor's Oyster Festival 5 Kilometer Run on Saturday, Oct. 19.
