The Cantiague Park Senior Men's Golf League held its second "scatter" tournament of the year on Sept. 25. Although it was a great day for golf, only 27 golfers were on hand. Two teams shot a 32 for the round but the team of Karl Zoehfield, Sonny Posillico, Clarence Leder and Jake Ziegler won first place because they parred the first, second and third holes and the other team parred the first and second but they bogied the third. The second place team was Bill Gregory, Jim Anderson, Lew Rezoagli and Jerry Leonard. There was only two strokes between first and last place. Two teams shot 32, three teams shot 33 and two teams shot 34. Both the closest to the pin and the longest drive trophies were won by Lou Neumann.
The next tournament will be held on Thursday, Sept. 19. Sign-in time is at 7 a.m.
Competition on the nine-hole course is divided into two divisions. Flight A is for players with a handicap of 11 or less. Flight B is for players with a handicap of 12 or more. The league is a 100 percent handicap league and is always looking for new members. Any man who is at least 55 years of age is eligible. For more information, call Lou Neumann at 681-2056.
