Nearly 400 local runners and walkers gathered at Eisenhower Park on Tuesday, Aug. 13, to participate in the Greater Long Island Running Club's third annual Sprint for the Parks, a 5 kilometer race whose entire proceeds were dedicated to providing funds for our hard pressed Nassau County park and recreational programs. This year's edition of the Sprint drew nearly 150 more entrants than did the 2001 edition of the Sprint.
