Slomin's of Hicksville employees recently played softball in the day-long 8th Annual Business Cares for Kids Sports Festival to benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island.

Twenty-seven teams from companies large and small participated in the event, which also included a Kids Walk-A-Thon, family entertainment, food and music, sponsored by the Roslyn Savings Foundation.

The Ronald McDonalds House of Long Island is a home-away-from-home for families of seriously ill children undergoing critical medical treatment in area hospitals. The House provides a comfortable and supportive environment, helping families through their most difficult time.

Due to increased demand, the House is undergoing an expansion to double the number of rooms available to residents, so no family will ever have to be turned away again. For more information, call (718) 343-LOVE or visit www.mhlongisland.org.
