Property Reassessments to Be Mailed To County Residents by September 1
Under the new county property assessment plan, residents will likely be seeing either an increase or decrease in the county portion of their tax bill, which amounts to about 20 percent of a total tax bill. The reassessment will correct the valuation of properties in the county, by bringing them up to date, for tax purposes.

Sister McMahon, Dedicated Educator, Retires
A Mass was held on Sunday, June 30 in honor of Sister Eileen McMahon, who is retiring after serving as principal of the Holy Family School for 32 years. The celebrant of the Mass was Rev. Msgr. Edward Donnelly, pastor of Holy Family Parish, and concelebrated with associate Pastors Rev. Varghese Kocherry and Rev. Vincent Schifano.

17th Annual JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge July 30
Residents and employees of businesses in the Hicksville community are invited to join corporate executives across Long Island for the 17th Annual JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge(r). The 3.5-mile event, open to runners, walkers and joggers, will be held at Jones Beach on Tuesday, July 30 at 7 p.m. At this time, New York Islanders great and recent Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Clark Gillies will be on hand to start the race, which begins and ends at Parking Field 5 (near the intersection of Wantagh Parkway and Ocean Drive.)

Hicksville's Lacrosse Alumni All-Americans
Three Hicksville High School lacrosse alumni recently earned Collegiate All-American honors. Tom Kessler, a senior at Hofstra University, and Danny Cocchi, a junior at Towson University, were named Division 1 All-Americans. Matt Puerta, a senior at Oneonta University, was named Division 3 All-American.
