Our daughter, Angela Hinton-Diedro, has been suffering from cancer since 2000. Angela, age 37, is a graduate of Westbury High School and spent her formative years growing up in our community. She now lives in Freeport with her husband and three small children.

For the past two years she has been fighting lymphoma with a variety of treatments including chemotherapy, radiation and stem cell transplant. None have effectively cured her and she now awaits a very specialized bone marrow transplant procedure. To move forward with this treatment we need to secure blood matches. We ask you to donate blood to see if you can help her in her future bone marrow transplant procedure.

A blood drive to benefit Angela will be held at the Westbury United Methodist Church, 265 Asbury Avenue, on Saturday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The drive is sponsored by the New York Blood Bank. For more information, contact Elaine Hinton at 333-2763 or Rose Walker at 997-5372.

We hope that you will give your blood for testing so that we may help save our daughter. Your spirit, help and kindness will always be in our hearts.

John and Elaine Hinton
